Professional Drummer for 22 years, Alexandre has always considered musical excellence as his utmost goal. He lived in Germany from 1994 to 1997 and played in the best jazz clubs.
Since 2004 Alexandre has hosted an editorial section in Modern Drummer Brazil, the most prestigious drum magazine in the country. In 2005, his debut record, Batepapo, gathered some of the best Brazilian musicians such as Airto Moreira and Alegre Correa to present traditional Brazilian music with a fusion approach. This CD became one of the top ten CD’s of 2005 in Smooth Jazz and More.
In 2007, Alexandre released his second CD, Batepapo 2 ao vivo em Studio, a live record with his quintet. In 2008, he released a DVD about drum soloing and his band was the first Brazilian group to play at the Shanghai International Jazz Festival, one of the most im- portant festivals in Asia, and later released a DVD of this performance, Live in Shanghai, before travelling through China to play in jazz clubs.
