Introduction of the Lecture
Die-hard jazz fan Zheng Yu presents today’s British jazz music scene based on the experience and research he made when he traveled around UK. This talk is about the history and development of British jazz, stories of jazz labels and record stores, different music styles of alive British jazz musicians, and the current condition of jazz lives such as jazz clubs and jazz festivals in Britain. This talk is related to the photography exhibition “Now, and Now Again” by Zheng Yu.
Introduction of the Speaker
Zheng Yu (郑宇), known as Liamaerd, is a die-hard jazz fan. He is also the organizer of Douban group Jazz Record and co-founder of Chinese Jazz Writing Collective (爵士乐中文写作社). He studied in UK in 2011 and watched hundreds of jazz lives there.
