Huanqing was born in Chengdu and now he lives in Dali. Since2000, Huanqing had started to make the folk music compilations in southwest region of China in the past eight years. He has produced an album” 一块铜皮” , “过黄河” of Yi nation, “天空之下” of Hani nation, “狗追马鹿”of Naxi nation and Nu Wa “双桨采韵” of Nu nation and Wa Nation, also “洛马底古调” of DaiDai nation, “扎西父子” of Tibetan ,” Xiao & Xiao” of Han nation and the Yangtze River folk song” Yangze River “; the compilation of ” Yunnan accent “and so on.
Huanqing was engaged in exploring the experimental music in his working process of field recording and folk music collecting, at the same time he still maintains a rich cultural folk heritage in his music consisting of his sentimental feelings. Over years he insists using his handmade musical instruments, and mixes the traditional Yi mouth strings European port strings, guitar, percussion and other modern instruments and world music elements in his music. With the sample arrangement and the natural melody, Huanqing express himself in his album and live performance as well.
