Lunatic Toys is part of this new stream coming from jazz, influenced by rock, pop and others. The band provides a very expressive and invigorating music, suggesting inspired imaginary pictures. There are simple stories sweeping the ear, taking you from a mellow cloud to a stormy intensity. Lunatic Toys utters a quite strange music tallying with improvisation’s idioms, explores harmonic language and can harden the speech until it becomes totally hypnotic.
The power trio’s acoustic vocabulary is based on pop and rock and weaves improvisations fueled by jazz culture with themes that are poetic, funny and dark at once. Their compositions leave an open space for a great freedom of expression for three musicians, sound is key to this trio committed to creating rich textures and contrasting acoustic climates.
Lunatic Toys invites its frenetic keyboards, hypnotic sax and apocalyptic drums in an orgy of pulsating rock, harmonic & progressive trames & trance jazz. A group that throws scores to the wind to serve us songs without words, touched with hazy melodies and shaken rhythms.
