Luo Ning
Luo Ning was born in a family of music in China and grew up in the multiracial province Xinjiang with much ethnic customs. Luo Ning’s father discovered his talents in music when he was only 4 years old, then he started to learn piano with his father being his abecedarian. He started to study in Cuba Arts University in August 2010 and become the student of Cuba famous Latino Jazz pianist Bellita and famous percussionist Emilio Del Monte. During his studying in Cuba, he also learned from eight-time Grammy Award-winner Latin jazz piano master Chucho Valdes, and had a session learning from 2009 Grammy winner Roberto Fonseca.
He is now one of the most excellent pianists of JAZZ in Beijing. He has his own unique understanding and expression on JAZZ piano and classical music, and he is famous for his consummate playing skill and ebullience and enthusiasm. Since 1998, Luo Ning has frequently played in domestic and international stage of JAZZ, classical, popular or folk music, and he ever worked with JAZZ musician Kenny Garrett, Jens Winther and so on.
Dan Callaghan
Dan Callaghan is one of Ireland’s finest double bass players. He has been working as a professional musician for the last six years and has performed with many of Ireland’s leading jazz musicians including Mike Nielson, Hugh Buckley and Richie Buckley. Dan graduated with an Honours BA in Jazz Performance from Newpark Music Centre in 2010. He met drummer Tommy Gray while studying at Newpark. This dynamic rhythm section are frequently hired to work together because of their unequivocal musical rapport and professionalism.
Izumi koga
Izumi koga is a well-known Japanese Drummer in China and he has a very outstanding performance in terms of teaching and instrument-playing.
He was born in 1968 in Tokyo, Japan. He studies Business Management in University of Findlay in United States of America from 1986 to 1989. Then he studied Jazz Drumming in Berkley Music College from 1990 to 1993.
He became a member of HIBARI children’s choir at the age of 10, during which time he had got the chance to learn drumming form Osamu minagawa. He also performed percussion on famous composer Toru Takemitu’s show Moon. He was the first drummer expert recognized by foreign organization in China. And he had been a regular member in Beijing International Jazz Festival form 1993 to 2001.
He is now the Dean of Jazz Department of Beijing Modern Music College. And he now acted as drummer in the bank of China/Germany Quintet “Meeting” and” Moreno Donadel Trio”. And he is also the drummer of Liu Yuan Band and Luo Ning Jazz Band.
